Protein, as one of the key nutrients, benefits athletes through promoting muscle repair, recovery, adaptation, and preserving lean body mass. However, the actual protein requirement for each individual varies among the individuals. How much protein do athletes need?
Among all the people who train consistently, there is commonly a general recommendation of consuming approximately 1.2–2.0 g of protein per kilogram of body weight daily, although this also varies by training demands and personal goals.

It’s possible for most athletes to meet protein needs using foods. It may be provided as part of a normal, balanced diet which has carbohydrate sources, good fats as well as vitamins, minerals, fiber as well as protein.
